Happy New Year! What a year we have had together. It is my hope that this coming year will be filled with exiting new opportunities and events as OCW continues to strive toward our mission of being a voice for women who share a passion for the beef community.
As you create your New Years resolutions, I challenge you to add “grow as a CattleWoman” to your list! Whether that means becoming a better advocate, rancher or leader; OCW has the resources to help you achieve your goals! To become a better advocate, take a look into your beef journey and find the connection that will better convey the value of beef to both consumers and your peers. There are a few resources that can help you become a better beef advocate including the Masters of Beef Advocacy Program and the Beef Quality Assurance Program.
Looking to expand your ranching skills? OCW is excited to bring training sessions to our membership and others this year as we host the 2023 ANCW Region IV Meeting & WIRED Event so that we may all grow together! Hosted in the Oklahoma National Stockyards on May 5th-7th, this event will include hands-on trainings, workshops and sessions all designed to cultivate successful and knowledgeable ranchers in a comfortable and confidence building environment. I am particularly excited about this event as it was the inspiration for my presidential platform, Cultivating CattleWomen! You can find registration information and event details on our website: okcattlewomen.org.
Let’s talk leadership! OCW is made up of women from all walks of life that have immense passion for agriculture. It’s time to use your passions to fuel the CattleWomen around you! Throughout my time as a CattleWoman I have learned a great deal about myself as a CattleWoman and as a leader by attending American National CattleWomen meetings and events. I am looking forward to the ANCW itinerary during the 2023 Cattle Industry Convention in New Orleans, LA on January 28th – February 2nd. ALL of the ANCW meetings are open to ALL! They have quite the schedule planned for their 70th Anniversary so go check it out at ANCW.org and register to join your fellow CattleWomen as we geaux down to New Orleans!
This is just a small look at the year ahead. We have plenty in store for the coming year for each member to get involved. If you have any questions on upcoming events or would like to get involved in one of our many committees, head on over to our website for a full directory of officers, directors and chairmen. We would be happy to help in anyway that we can.
I pray you all have a blessed and healthy year and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
